My hope is to create a welcoming library and media center for the people of Haiti—a place where learning can flourish. While a huge or elaborate space is not a requirement, the true value lies in the knowledge and resources we will gather within its walls. This space will be filled with books and as many computers and media tools as our budget allows. A goal of $12,000 has been set to bring this vision to life. (Subscribe to the newsletter to track our progress—so far, we’re a quarter of the way there!) Given the varying construction costs in the area, this goal is both realistic and sufficient for our needs.
I am fortunate to be in contact with an incredible missionary leader whose organization continues to provide much-needed support for Haiti during these challenging times. Peace is being restored in Haiti—although more slowly than we’d like—it is happening. I trust that God’s timing is always perfect.
In time, we will invite contributions of books, which will sit alongside the new ones we acquire, enriching the lives of those who use this special place.
It is essential to empower the people of Haiti, especially the children. I am deeply committed to creating a nurturing environment where individuals can learn and reach their full potential, enhancing their lives in meaningful ways. Seeing how empowerment transformed the life of one young man has inspired me to pursue broader, positive change, particularly in a place where hope can be so rare. Your purchase of “Tapestry, My Haiti Story” has already set us on this path toward making a difference. However, to truly bring this vision to life, we need additional support beyond book sales. While a portion of the proceeds is being reserved for this cause, unless the book reaches the “Best Seller” list, it won’t be enough to fully fund the effort. That’s why 100% of your donations will play a crucial role in making this dream a reality.
I am so grateful for this experience. I had a plan to serve missions, but God’s plan was much different than mine. His was greater! It’s interesting how we can only see what’s in front of us even though we make plans. I think that’s a good thing because God sets forth the beautiful Tapestry of our lives and He goes before us to lead the way. We must step into His plan and lay ours aside to experience His best! To God be the glory for the great things that He always does!
Because of my experience in Haiti, my desire is to make an impact in the lives of others. Jean Toussaint, one of my inspirations for writing the book, and I collaborated on how to give back to Haiti. Books and media that I provided for Jean helped to empower him. It would be an honor for us to empower others in the same way.
One hundred percent of donations received here will go towards the library/media center. Some of the proceeds from the book sales will be donated as well. Any support small or large would help fund this effort.
